WHEN IS THE NEXT BOOK GOING TO COME OUT? |
Sigh. Dear readers, I have no idea. Whenever it is finished, one presumes. More than once, Judith has said that writing is extremely difficult for her–so much so that she has been known to save snippets cut from one book for possible use in a future story. One can only imagine the stress you grow to live with when you have characters and stories bouncing around in your head, crying out to get on paper…while the actual transfer from mind to paper is an act of self-inflicted torture. One wants to bang one’s head against the wall when one tries to write. But one can’t NOT write, either. Ugh.
Or at least that’s how I imagine the agony in my head.
Given how utterly, soul-shatteringly, earth-movingly, unforgettably PERFECT Judith’s books are, it almost seems as if every single word is a work of art — every sentence carefully crafted, inserted on the page because it is supposed to be there. I say this because I’ve been reading Judith McNaught’s books since I was 13 years old. I’ve lost count of the number of times I’ve re-read each one. They simply NEVER. GET. OLD. There is no other author I can say this about. (With the possible exception of JK Rowling’s Harry Potter series–also epic.)
There has to be something very, very special about an author who can write stories that readers come back to time and time again when nothing else compares… Whatever she does, it’s magical, and it’s something no other author can do. And if it takes her another ten years to get the book exactly how she wants it, with all the magic she can put into it, well… I shall be first in line to buy my hardcover at the bookstore. Because I adore Judith McNaught above all things. <3
If I’m honest I have to tell you I still read fairy tales and I like them best of all.

WHAT IS THE NEW BOOK ABOUT? |
As far as we know, the book is still part of a trilogy featuring the modern-day descendants of the Westmoreland Dynasty. Yes. That’s correct. A modern-day Clayton Westmoreland. (*SQUEAL!*)
But Clay’s book will presumably come second or third. In the recent ebook release of A Kingdom of Dreams, Judith shared this little nugget in her introduction letter:
My newest book is about Jonas Westmoreland, a legendary all-American quarterback whose public life is turned upside down by a quirky veterinary student who inadvertently climbs into bed with him in his Las Vegas hotel. When Jonas attempts to eject her into the hallway, his efforts are observed by a hotel guest with a cell phone camera, and his entire career is jeopardized. It’s a drastic problem requiring a drastic solution….
I don’t know about you all, but I think it sounds delicious. Modern. Day. Westmorelands. Dear God. I. Can’t. Wait.
