Many of us received an email from Goodreads with the tantalizing information that Judith’s next book was set to be released on June 6, 2017. I would never wish to be the voice of doom, but I greatly fear that information was inaccurate.
One would expect news of this magnitude to come not from Goodreads, but rather from JM or her publisher. At the very least, one would think the big retailers would not only be aware of it, but would also have been promoting pre-sales for the past month (or four). Yet no mention of a release date is given on Judith’s website, Facebook page, or her publisher’s website–nor is the book listed for pre-sale on Amazon.com or at Barnes & Noble.
Additionally, Goodreads still lists the book as “Can’t Take My Eyes Off of You”, a title which Judith herself said she no longer liked. The synopsis, too, appears to be outdated. It’s not inconceivable that the release date is also several years old.
If by chance the book appears on Amazon’s website this Thursday, I shall be tickled pink and shamelessly calling in sick to work on Thursday and Friday so that I can devour it twice…but in the meantime, I’m not going to put in a vacation request for those days…if you know what I mean. 😉
If it doesn’t appear on bookshelves on June 6th (and I have a glum suspicion it will not), Goodreads should be sued for the emotional distress we will suffer in the wake of crushing disappointment. Just saying…
